Back Alley Pt.1

"Hong Kong’s back alleys are often unnoticed against their more glamorous counterparts of dazzling architecture. However, they are unique to Hong Kong. It might seem mundane but it presents an authentic slice of Hong Kong’ grass root culture." ~ Michael Wolf

This series was inspired by the idea that urban developments often portray two sides. The side that is modern and glamorous side, and the side that is overlooked. People usually see the face of buildings because they're the side thats most welcoming and facing the main streets, but usually when you walk around the sides or the back you are confronted with a drastically different ambiance. Often filled with character and traces of interaction, these backstreets display a very unique perspective of Hong Kong.
